The Supernatural: What Really Is Faith?

Supernatural We have heard a number of people say, “I have faith for this and that.”

What really is faith?

Hebrews 11:1 gives us the raw definition of faith.

NIV Version:
“Now faith is confidence in what we hope for and assurance about what we do not see.”

New Living Translation Version:
“Faith shows the reality of what we hope for; it is the evidence of things we cannot see.”

We are spiritual beings and are able to live on earth with our natural bodies.

Faith is not a physical force but a spiritual force that produces physical results.

This makes faith more authentic than anything we actually see on earth.

Faith in This Generation

Unfortunately, in this generation, there is little faith present.

Faith has been replaced with fear.

People don’t have time for faith or the supernatural until something beyond them happens.

By God’s grace, things will begin to change.

Someone might ask, “Why are you always talking about God and spiritual things?”

The truth is, without God and the spiritual realm, the earth will not be in existence, let alone man.

Therefore, to understand how to function maximally and fulfil destiny in grand style, you must know God and have a deep understanding of the spiritual realm.

Faith, which is one of the virtues that will be discussed further in the next post, is of the spiritual realm.

People who believe that they know too much, who ignore the spiritual and focus all their energy on the physical realm, run in circles and are never fulfilled.

Only the sincere ones will tell the truth. Others would pretend to enjoy life but die inside when on their own.

Understanding the Spiritual Realm

As I have stated before, for anything to happen in the physical realm, it would have taken place spiritually.

Only those who are in tune with the spiritual know how to change the course of action, thereby enabling or preventing something from happening physically.

We are to tune our spirit man to receive signals effectively from the spiritual realm.

Those who are of the dark world and engage the spiritual realm, the majority of them can see what will happen but can’t change the course of events from happening.

Some of them depend on fate, and even if they try, it can NEVER be as perfect as the one from above — our Heavenly Father, who is above all.

The Story of the Israelites and Egyptians

I remember the story of the Israelites and Egyptians, how God worked wonders in their midst (Exodus chapters 4–12).

The king at the time ordered his magicians to perform the same miracles as Moses and Aaron did through the hands of God.

Firstly, God turned Aaron’s rod into a snake, and the magicians were able to do the same, but Aaron’s rod swallowed them up.

Another act that God did was turning the river into blood, resulting in the death of the fish in the river.

The magicians were able to do the same.

God caused frogs to come upon the land of Egypt, and the magicians were able to do so.

See the foolishness of man.

Their magicians were showing off to the king and, at the same time, causing more havoc in their land.

But the land of Goshen, which is in Egypt, where Moses and Aaron belonged, none of these happened.

God caused the land to be filled with lice, but this time, the magicians tried and didn’t succeed.

They gave a testimony of this being the finger of God.

Why would you go for the counterfeit/fake when you have easy access to the original?

Until you start walking with God, you have no idea what things you will enjoy when you have access to the supernatural.

And there is always room for growth.

Benefits of Walking with God

Some of such benefits include:

  • Peace of mind — because you know God will speak to you before something happens, and He will also tell you what to do when you ask.
  • Joy
  • Fulfilment
  • Confidence that no devil can touch your life
  • Protección divina
  • And many more.

Beginning the Journey of the Supernatural

To begin this journey of the supernatural, your salvation has to be authentic.

People have been to Heaven and back, they’ve had encounters with Jesus, and some have seen hell.

All this happened as a result of their spirit man being in tune with the spirit realm.

It is our responsibility to develop our spirit man.

We do this by:

  • Accepting Jesus as our Lord and Saviour.
  • Spending more time with God.
  • Meditating on His Word.
  • Listening to tapes/messages of men and women of God whose lives have been an example of God’s faithfulness.
  • And other ways of building our relationship with God.

As we do so, our lives will experience a new beginning.

Faith Is a Potent Force

Faith is a potent force, and it has the capacity for growth.

The higher your faith is, the easier it becomes to break through in life.

Remember that without faith, it is impossible to please God.

The topic on faith continues in the next post.
